About Us

At Yorkys 4 U, our dogs have their own house in the backyard.  This house is climate controlled and each dog has it's own private kennel inside for sleeping at night.  They have a television to listen to or watch.... and Radio, if they want it!!!

Each one of our dogs is given time each day for running and playing in a secure back yard.  They get to play fetch and chase, dig a hole, swim in the doggie pool.....or do whatever they want to do.

Our puppies eat a variety of foods around here... When very young, they get Pedigree Puppy food in the can mixed with goat's milk and vitamins.  Transitioning puppies get a mixture of Purina Puppy Chow Healthy Morsels, (it has little soft pieces for easy chewing) Iams Puppy, and Royal Canin Puppy 33 or Royal Canin Babydog 30.
We allow our puppies to have access to dry food and water all day.

When puppies are very small... to help ears stand up... we feed boiled chicken livers or turkey for high protein and shave their ears to keep the weight off.
If you purchase a puppy who's ears are not standing yet... you will need to continue to feed high-protein and keep the ears shaved to help the cartilage in the ears.

Here at Yorkys 4 U, We use a variety of products for bathing our dogs and puppies.
For control of fleas and ticks... We use a product called "Happy Jack Kennel Dip II".  Dipping once a month (We never do the facial area).  Dipping once a month with the Happy Jack really does keep the fleas and ticks away!!!  Try Happy Jack here....   www.happyjackinc.com
We use a variety of other shampoos and conditioners, depending on each animal's skin condition, for normal bathing.
We also use Happy Jack Paracide II on puppies that are too small to be dipped.  This is a great product also!  And it makes them smell really good!  If you are looking for a gentle soap to wash your new puppy in... Our Vet recommends "Dawn Dishwashing Detergent" ~~ It's gentle on the puppies, and it kills fleas too!

On nice days.... Our dogs stay in large, covered, cement floor pens. We do not house our dogs in little wire pens that tear their feet up!  Each pen is cleaned throughout the day, so our dogs are not "standing in feces".  And we make sure that they are comfortable with any weather conditions.  Before, and after being put in the pen...    as well as at various times during the day...  each dog gets at least 15 minutes of "free play" running in the back yard.

At Yorkys 4 U, We usually don't place any restrictions on breeding rights.  Although we strongly caution against breeding of our really large or extremely small dogs.
For obvious reasons... the tiny ones cannot be bred due to the size!
The larger ones, we advise not to breed in keeping with the Breed Standard
However, you are free to breed any dog that Yorkys 4 U does not put a restriction on!

We use AKC (American Kennel Club), CKC (Continental Kennel Club), and UKC (Universal Kennel Club) to register our puppies.
If the parents of a particular puppy are registered with the AKC, that puppy will be registered with all three registries and you will receive a copy of the parent's pedigrees along with your puppy.
***Not all of our dogs are registered with AKC***
If you are particularly interested in one of our AKC Yorkies for breeding purposes, you will need to check with us first.  Otherwise, your puppy will be registered UKC and CKC.

Breed standard for a Yorkie is up to 7 lbs.  There are no "T-cup" Yorkshire Terriers!  Many people like to call the really tiny ones t-cups, but in reality, there is no "T-cup Yorkie".  When Yorkys 4 U refers to a t-cup, We mean that this puppy will be around 3 to 4 lbs or smaller at maturity.
If you are thinking of purchasing a Tcup, there are many things for you to "keep in mind"  before doing so!
